DubLi Auction
Success at the Unique Bid Auction
The DubLi Auction has created a lot of excitement for those who enjoy shopping online. All the latest, brand new, luxury and most sort after merchandise changes hands daily at the Dubli Auction at great bargain prices. The DubLi Unique Bid Auction is particularly exciting and the most fun. This is where some of the greatest bargains are obtained. Lately I have been putting in a few bids to try to see if I can snap up one of the new Apple iPads at the DubLi Unique Bid Auction. No luck so far, but it made me green with envy when one went for $190, so I will keep trying. A few weeks ago my grandson Andy told me he was saving up for a Sony PSPgo. That meant nothing to me as I had no idea what that was, so I quizzed Andy about it. I'm not much the wiser, but he said they cost $400.00 in Brisbane, and so far he had saved about $80.00 towards it. I noticed a Sony PSPgo being offered at the DubLi Auction, so I decided to put in some bids, in my price range, to see if I could get it for Andy. Ureka! My bid of $12.25 was the lowest unique bid so DubLi sent me a message to tell me I had won. I can't wait to see Andy's face when it turns up in the post, and I am feeling a bit pleased with myself as I have never picked up such a great bargain before.
How to Succeed at the Dubli Unique Bid Auction
As I said, I have had a go at winning a few items at the DubLi Auctions before this, but was unsuccessful. Lets face it, you do have to be very lucky to win, but I have worked out a formula, which I believe helped to improve my chances this time. Previously, I simply placed a few random bids based on birthdays and supposed lucky numbers. This time I decided to try to work out a system that might increase my chances. If, like me, you have tried a few DubLi auctions without success, you might like to consider my very simple system. I think it helped me on this occasion by helping me to focus on a plan, but time will tell if it works on future occasions. There is still a huge element of luck in winning at the DubLi Unique Bid Auction. First I decide how high I am prepared to go to get the item, say, 10 or 20 Credits to test the market, and an upper limit for the purchase price, eg. $40.00 (remembering that freight is added to this amount to get it from the US.) Obviously, if you are after one of the more expensive items you will have to set your sights higher. With the PSPgo, I spread 10 DubLi credits between 0.25 cents and $40.00. As a member that cost me $6.00. For non-members it would be $8.00. Obviously I would like to see a message, "Your bid is unique and the lowest offer", which indicates that I have the winning bid at that time. Failing that, "Your bid is unique but not the lowest unique offer", would be good. That indicates that one or more bids below mine are lower, and, of course, that one of those is the lowest unique offer. The other message you might get, "Your bid is neither unique or the lowest single offer", really tells you nothing, except that you have spent a credit. It does not indicate whether your bid is higher or lower than the current lowest single offer, just that it is not unique. With the DubLi auction for the Sony PSPgo, my bid for $12.25 turned out to be unique but not the lowest, when I placed it. That indicated that someone else had the lowest unique bid somewhere below that figure. I decided to try to eliminate the Unique bid or bids below mine, and started placing more bids and working back from my bid to do so. At $10.00, a message popped up to tell me that I had the lowest unique bid, so I had spent another 9 Credits to get the lowest unique bid. At that point, there was less than an hour to go for the completion of the auction, and during that time one of my other unique bids got knocked off, but, fortunately, no one else bid on $12.25, so, when the auction closed I was the winner.

In June or July the DubLi Auction will be set up in Australia, so we will be bidding for local merchandise and the cost of freight will be reduced. Until then we are bidding on merchandise in America. Good luck with your bids, I hope you have a win as it is a real thrill when you do, and, don't forget to let me know how you get on.
